We live in a beautiful area that has many animals of all sizes.

We are facing the Elkhorn Mountains and we are only 15 miles from Canyon Ferry Lake.

We have mule deer, rabbits and chipmunks around most of the time.  Every once in a while we see elk wandering through.  We have many birds all year round.

We also have some dangerous animals around.  There have been black bears, mountain lions and wolves that have been seen occasionally.  We have coyotes that are in the area year round.

All of these animals are amazing to see.  They do not usually cause any problems, if you respect them and allow them space.  We are in a wilderness/urban interface.  Living here means animals around, and you have to accept them.

Do not feed the animals.  It trains them to approach people.  This puts them into harm's way.
